Welcome to Russian Maslenitsa!

I’d like to tell you about Shrovetide. It’s a great Russian holiday in late February and early March. Long ago Slavs believed in god of the son Yarilo. They believed that that they had to help fight against winter and bring in the spring.
Last week, there was great Shrovetide celebration in Ryazan, including playing games, singing, dancing, eating a lot of tasty food and just having fun.
